Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do Protectall Tyre Bands prevent punctures and blow-outs?

A. No, Protectall Tyre Bands do not prevent a puncture or blow out but they ensure that the tyre stays on the rim; that the driver has control over the vehicle; and is able to bring it to a stationary position safely.

Q. If I have a puncture where can I have my tyre changed?

A. Any Protectall accredited fitment center (click here to see our list on the website) will be able to change your tyre and refit the bands to your new tyre. Protectall Tyre Bands come with an Allen key (this is used to remove the tyre band) for you to keep in your car should you reach a fitment center that is out of our network.

Q. If I sell my car, can I remove the bands and re-use them?

A. Yes, provided the tyre size is the same as the previous car.

Q. Do Protectall Tyre Bands affect the balancing of my tyres?

A. No, Protectall Tyre Bands are made of lightweight aluminium (equal to about 450g per band) and will in no way affect the balancing of the tyres.

Q. What if I have a puncture or blow out in a place where there are no fitment centers?

A. Replace the tyre with the spare – then continue driving to the nearest town where the puncture can be repaired and/or the tyre replaced.

Q. What is the purpose of the Allen Key provided with my Protectall Tyre Bands?

A. The Allen Key is provided in the event that you reach a fitment center which is not an accredited stockist of Protectall Tyre Bands. This fitment centers personnel will then be able to remove the tyre band.
